THE BARON IN THE TREES -- a transformation of the celebrated novel.  The play, written and directed by Annie Elias, is about a boy who rejects his stuffy family mid-meal, climbs a tree and vows he'll never come down.  And he never does! The action follows him through a series of adventures over his lifetime in the trees.  Set in eighteenth century Italy, the play spans the French Revolution and Napoleon's reign.  The production features an impressive artistic team, with Phantom veteran artists, and artists new to Phantom gathering from across the country.
     July 31-Aug. 2 and Aug. 7-9, $15

Created and performed by Two Heads Taller Dance Co., of San Francisco with co-directors, Naomi Chamblin and Hanna Satterlee. Trusting memories of their own habits to indicate the power of fear, and its counterpart, reliance, this performance offers a dreamlike sequence of movement, imagery and sound, questioning that which attracts us to what we fear most, and the switch that makes us turn the other way to run.
